Hello Backers!

We are closing the Empire of the Ghouls BackerKit on June 4th.  That means we will not be accept outstanding orders after that date. Empire of the Ghouls was fulfilled in April 2020, and this is your last chance to request any products backed during the Kickstarter. Any submitted orders that include out of stock items, such as Limited Edition covers, will be replaced with standard products and store credit for the Kobold Press Store website. All shipping is USPS only due to COVID, as noted in the pre-order store.

The Vault of Magic Kickstarter will be ending soon. Over the course of the Kickstarter, we have added several new guest designers, including Rudy Basso, DM Noir, Patrick Rothfuss, Gail Simone, and Bee Zelda! 

We have also unlocked 50 stretch goals, and we have just a few more art and guest item reveal stretch goals remaining in these final hours.

A Vault of Magic Opens! – New Kickstarter

Hello Backers!

We hope you are doing well and staying warm in your warrens. Our warrens are abuzz with activity as we open our vault of magic items and let them out into the world (for better or worse!).

The Vault of Magic is a book chock full of nearly 800 setting-agnostic 5e magic items (meaning the items are perfect for use in any campaign world). We are also very excited to have several guest designers creating items for our vault. Such guest designers include Deborah Ann Woll, Adam Bradford, Luke Gygax, Meagan and Todd Kenreck, and many more! Some of our guest designers even sat down with our Twitch Producer, Dot, to chat about their magic items. You can find these chats on the Kobold Press Youtube Channel (be sure to check out the announcement video and like and subscribe to be notified when we add more guest chat videos!). If you want to join the chats live and ask our guests some questions, join us each Wednesday at 12 PM Pacific on the Kobold Press Twitch Channel.

Our backers have already unlocked almost two dozen stretch goals, which include adding a ton of new magic items, such as druidic items, bearfolk honey items, witchy concoctions, magic arrows and bolts, magic contracts, and Fabled items (items that increase in power as your character increases in level)!

New Kickstarter - The Southlands!

Hello Backers!

For GMs reading ahead in Empire of the Ghouls and wondering how to expand Chapter 4’s Siwal into a larger adventure area (who doesn’t love adding side quests to adventures?) or for GMs and players who fell in love with the Southlands while exploring Chapter 4, we are currently running a Kickstarter to bring the Southlands to life in 5th Edition.

The new Southlands Worldbook includes material for the continent of Southlands and updates some older material to fit into Midgard’s current timeline. It features the dangers of the high jungles, the machinations of the god-kings and god-queens of Nuria Natal, chapters expanding on the gnolls and the tosculi, and loads of new content!

If that wasn’t enough, we’re including companion books in the Southlands Kickstarter: the Southlands Player’s Guide (similar to the Underworld Player’s Guide from this Kickstarter) and the City of Cats, a hardcover volume featuring a gazetteer of Per-Bastet and three adventures from levels 1-5. ALSO! Backers at $25 or more get up to 10 PDF-only rewards we’re unlocking as things go along. Some of these extra PDFs are miniature adventures set in the Southlands and others expand on cults or magic within the Southlands.
